The blanket is very soft and comfortable, and it covers the lap well. We wish that there was more heat to it, but it definitely takes out the chill and complements a heated seat.

We drive to Texas from Kalifornistan to visit son and his family who are in the service. Sometimes to save a bit of money we’ll pull over and take a snooze at a roadside rest. It gets cold at the higher elevations of Arizona and New Mexico! Rather than starting the car and heater, we plug this blanket into the 12volt outlet of a small battery backup (see photos). We don’t use the car 12volt outlet for fear of running the car battery down. Blanket does not put out a lot of heat, just enough to take the chill out. Because of this low current draw we can run the blanket just over 5 hours. Anyway, works for us…

I waited an hour for it to get hot, but it really only got slightly warmer than room temperature.

When you live in a place where your phone has no service for miles and cars don’t travel down the road often I can have something to keep me warm till help arrives. Easy to use and convenient to store in car or truck.

When you plug it in and wait, you might wonder if it’s working because it warms slowly and gently.

I bought this to go with a battery power station for cold weather car camping and placed it under my sleeping bag. I really liked that I could plug it in 15 minutes before I got into bed and there would a mild warmth that lasted through the night. Note that means this will run until it’s unplugged, unlike many AC blankets that shut off every 20 minutes.

Also nice for sitting and watching TV in a cool house.

There’s no heat control, so it has to be unplugged if it’s getting too warm.

Took off one star because it’s such low heat. This won’t make you feel Toasty warm, unless you’re sleeping directly on it (which is comfy, I’ve done it quite a bit) and you have blankets on top of you.

Cord is too short and can’t wash.
Otherwise the temperature is good and I like it has no timer so won’t time out while you sleep. Good for camping as long as you can find a washable cover and dies not need a longer cord.

My wife didn’t understand why I bought it for her. Just returned from a trip to Florida. She loved it.
