I left this device in direct sun for weeks. The lights show it is charging, but it is not evident. I have to plug it in to charge.

That being said, it’s a cool battery pack if you recharge it plugged in.

Have been on the road for almost 2 months with this as one of my charging options. It is a good size to carry around in a backpack, durable build, plus the flashlight is a nice, strong light. On the flip side, noticeably short battery retention, where it is good to charge my phone once (but not to 100%..). And you need to primarily re-charge it at charging outlets as the solar panel seems negligible- I have tried setting it out in the sun for 5-6 hours at a time but no difference. I wouldn’t trust it as my sole charging means when backpacking, but only if on a hiking day trip. Even then I prefer to take my other portable charger which shows power percentage unlike this one… Haven’t tested out the cheap mini carabiner it comes with, but at least it provides a place to loop in your own paracord to securely fasten it to a strong carabiner of your choice. As well, the compass does not work on mine.

I had two similar ones in the past that I wore out. This one is better. I have it for emergencies like the wild fire we had several years ago in Phoenix Oregon. I also have given these lights to friends and family. A must for electrical outages and emergencies on the road.

I love that I can just plug it in after charging inside but it also charges with solar as you’re using it.

This works great and is reliable. I keep it with me at all times and it stays charged and ready to use whenever I need it!

Had this a couple of years and have use it VERY minimally. On a whim, I plugged it into my phone to charge it and…it was dead in under ten minutes. I had let it charge overnight (about 8 hours) to ensure it had a good charge on it and it only charged my phone 4% before it stopped. Weird thing is the flashlight still works.

To make sure I wasn’t just making a mistake, I repeated this experiment – 8 hours to charge up the battery and then plugged it into the phone. Same result. The battery simply doesn’t hold a charge.

I know some may say “Well, it’s a 2 year old battery…” This is true, but I almost never use this thing. I have used this to charge my phone maybe 6 times in those 2 years. And have charged it back up maybe 20 times overall.

I feel like this should have lasted far longer given how light the use was. I think I may just spend a little more money and go with a name brand since they have actual warranties they will honor.

I guess I at least have a flashlight.

I haven’t used it very much, but it is always handy to have a source of electricity in a pinch.

I love these things for when I go camping or when the snow and storms come in. I can keep our phones and my tablet charged up

I got this because of its ability to self charge. Even a bright lamp will charge it.
